Everyday Base Routine
Hey guys! Thought I'd do a quick post on my everyday base. I'm usually always running late (mostly because I just don't like leaving my bed) so I have to do my makeup quite quickly on a day to to day basis, I do sometimes switch up some of the products but the things I mention in this post are products that I've been reaching for a lot recently.

Party Makeup Look - Glowy Skin and Gold Smokey Eyes
Hi guys, I've mentioned in previous posts that I am a freelance make-up artist, not full time for now - just an odd booking here and there when I get the chance, and I decided I wanted to share some of my work on my blog as well. Hope you like it :)

Boots and Superdrug Haul
Hey guys! just a quick post on a few things I picked up from Boots and Superdrug a few days ago.
First off I picked up these two masks from L'Oreal and Garnier from Boots, I've heard alot of good things about them so can't wait to try them out.
I also restocked on my favourite mascara and concealer from Maybelline, I've lost count of how may of these I've gone through over the last year, another favourite I repurchased was the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in Warm Beige - this is like my holy grail everyday powder.

Favourite Drugstore Foundation & Primer - Maybelline Fit Me Matte+Poreless
Hi guys, today's review is on my all time favourite drugstore Foundation and Primer. I've always found it difficult to get a great colour match when it comes to drugstore foundations, back when I was in college I would just grab whatever shade I thought matched me and went with it (not the smartest move to be honest), and let me just say it did not look good. The foundations were never dark enough or they didn't have the right undertones for my complexion and I was always left looking a little grey - I'd then try to fix this by applying bronzer all over my face - it was a mess guys it was actually a mess.
But then I came across the Maybelline Fit Me foundation - the original one - and I think it was the first time I found a drugstore foundation that actually matched my skin! I was in love, this foundation worked pretty well for me at the time because my skin was going through a dry phase - the best thing about this was that it didn't cling to any dry patches and left me skin with a dewy finish. But my skin started changing and became less dry and more oily/combination and I felt that this foundation just wasn't working for me anymore, so I bit the bullet and got colour matched at MAC and bought the Studio Fix Fluid - which has become one of my holy grail foundations and something I have repurchased multiple times. But I was still on the lookout for another drugstore foundation that matched me as well as the Fit Me.

My Everyday Face
Today I thought I'd share with you the products I tend to reach for on an almost daily basis. Sometimes when I'm feeling super inspired I like to change up my eye look but my base usually stays the same (I may switch my foundation to my M.A.C. studio sculpt or Maybelline Fit Me if I feel like I need a change).

|| Maybelline Fit me Foundation - Review ||
I picked this foundation up when it was first released and I had not heard much about it. But I was curious and really wanted to try it since I had never used or heard of a gel foundation before. I picked up the shade 315 - Soft Honey and I have to say that it is a near perfect match and I can say that out of the drugstore foundations that I have tried this is the only one where I have been happy with the shade range. Now I know that Revlon and L'Oreal have a quite a good shade range for darker skin-tones but I've never tried any of their foundations so I can't say what they would be like.

Maybelline 24hr Color Tattoos
I am a little bit late on the band wagon with these since most beauty bloggers will have written about them in some way already. But I thought I'd add my two cents and tell you my opinion on these color tattoos.
Maybelline market these color tattoos as having a 24hr water resistant wear. One thing I can say about these is that their lasting power is amazing! Now I haven't worn these for a full 24 hrs since I don't usually keep my make up on for that long (and I doubt that any one else does either), the longest amount of time I have worn these is 14hrs (from 7am to 9pm - when I wake up and get ready for uni to when I get back at the end of the day) and I didn't experience any budging, creasing, fading or smudging thorughout the day - and my eyelids do get very oily so I was extremely pleased with how well these lasted.
The texture of these is really smooth and creamy and they glide on to the eyelids; can be applied with your fingertips or with a synthetic eyeshadow brush. The shades are very opaque and don't need much building up. I have had mine for quite a few months and they haven't dried up on me yet!
Uses: they can be used alone as an eyeshadow for a quick and simple look if you're running low on time or as a base for your powder eyeshadows to stick to and make them last longer. I have read in some beauty blogs that they can also be used as a cream eyeliner; now I haven't tried this out myself but it might be something you guys might want to try. When using these as an eyeshadow base one thing i would say is that if you want smooth blended edges then work with one eye at a time since they do dry quite quickly.
They come packaged in a heavy glass jar with a black screw on lid. The packaging is hefty and doesn't feel or look cheap. However, you do have to be careful when travelling with these since they are at risk of breaking.
